Fireworks over the Charles River Summer is here! Fun times are on the way. This was from Pops Goes the Fourth 2008 on the esplanade (I was on the Mass Ave bridge, but who’s counting). Looking through all the pictures from that night I remembered it wasn’t great for photographing, mainly because there was no wind whatsoever.

You may thing that’s a good thing when it comes to fireworks, but not when all the smoke just sits there and blocks all your good shots. A steady breeze is always best, or just shoot early on in the show, like so.
